Jennifer Moore and Monaluna Fabric

Jennifer Moore and Monaluna Bio Image
Jennifer Moore is an artist and designer based in Walnut Creek, California. She founded Monaluna in 2010 out of a desire to bring more eco-friendly textile options to the marketplace for designers, sewists, and quilters. Although her formal education is in Anthropology, her curiosity about design led her into a creative career. She began designing toys for Manhattan Toy, then worked as a surface designer at Target Corp., before returning to the Bay Area to join Pottery Barn Kids as a decorative accessories designer. She eventually began focusing on licensing her artwork for various products, including cotton fabric. Around that time, Jennifer became increasingly aware of the environmental and social impacts of cotton production and the benefits of organic cotton. Realizing how few sustainable fabric options were available, she decided to pursue a more eco-friendly path within the industry—one that ultimately led her to launch her own business, and Monaluna was born. Jennifer has now been designing fabrics for over twelve years and has produced more than thirty Monaluna fabric collections. All of the company’s fabrics are certified by GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard), ensuring that every step of production meets strict social and environmental criteria. Jennifer draws inspiration from her everyday life and creative pursuits—tending her organic garden, experimenting with new recipes, diving into DIY projects, and hiking the beautiful hills near her home. She finds joy in living creatively and sustainably and aims to share that joy through her work.
