Giuseppe Ribaudo, better known as Giucy Giuce, grew up on Long Island, New York. A first-generation Sicilian-American on his father’s side and second on his mother’s, he spent much of his childhood living in the lower level of his maternal grandparents’ home. With parents who owned and operated restaurants, Giuseppe and his sister often spent their days upstairs with their grandparents. His grandmother, a remarkably talented and prolific seamstress, taught him to sew in the traditional Sicilian fashion—demonstrating a technique once before expecting him to master it instantly. Though he didn’t take to garment making, this early exposure planted the seeds for a lifelong creative journey. It wasn’t until college that Giuseppe discovered his passion for quilting. He began by sewing improvisational quilts and later transitioned into modern traditional designs. After joining Instagram, he quickly became part of the vibrant, ever-growing online quilting community, forming lasting connections and sharing his evolving work with fellow makers around the world. Most recently, he's found a home with Free Spirit Fabrics.
